Sauna Menthol® menthol crystals are made from 100% natural mint essential oil (Mentha Arvensis), which is known for its strong refreshing and cooling effect. This same menthol is also found in many medicinal creams and ice gels, which are used for example to treat muscle injuries and open the airways.

Add menthol crystals to the water in the spa bucket and bathe in the sauna as usual. When the water touches the crystals, they release a strong, fresh menthol scent into the air and create a cool vapour cloud that opens the airways and cools the skin. This contrast of coolness and the heat of the sauna makes the sauna a unique experience. You can also add the crystals directly to the heater, so the steam spreads quickly throughout the sauna.

When using Sauna Menthol™ sauna ice, it is important to follow a few safety instructions to ensure an optimal sauna experience:

Start with a small amount : Menthol crystals are very powerful, so it is recommended to start with a small amount, for example one small crystal, about 0.5 cm in size. This way you get a safe and pleasant effect and you can gradually increase the amount if necessary.

Bath water temperature : Do not put crystals in cool bath water, as the crystals do not dissolve properly in cool water. Make sure the water is hot enough for the crystals to dissolve and release fresh menthol vapor into the sauna.

In contact with the skin : Menthol crystals can cause an intense feeling of coolness when in contact with the skin. This may feel very cold at first, but it also increases blood flow to the area and the sensation will go away after a while. Although the sensation is not dangerous, it is good to avoid getting the crystals directly on the skin in the sauna, and especially on the face area, to avoid burning eyes.

Do not place directly on the resistors of the electric heater : The crystals must not come directly on the resistors of the electric heater, as they may burst into flames. Safely add the crystals to the hot water in a ladle or place them on the stove on top of the stones.

Storage : Sauna Menthol should be stored in a closed package at room temperature. Avoid storing in a sauna, as the melting point of the crystals is around 41°C and they can melt in a hot environment. This way you ensure that the crystals remain usable and fresh for a long time.
